Ed's Fleet Andromeda Class Eploration Cruiser
#1
In a week I have played Star Trek Online for a Year.

This is the first ship I wanted since it looks so good and I bought it to celebrate all great things happened during that time.

NCC 92708-F ~ U.S.S. MAELSTROM

The build reflects several missions and events I remember dearly and uses a weapon type I have not tried out yet:

The Fluidic Phase Decoupler - It is a gift from my friend that got me to STO last year. I met him first when we were students, 1983. The console was a miracle for a newbie in a Miranda to get quickly out of trouble and now I will use it to get quickly into trouble.
The Hargh'peng Torpedo - It was the first Very Rare weapon I got. I kept that at those days Mk VI weapon until Level 50. The Federation Doomsday Device mission is my personal favorite.
The Breen Set - I loved the Deferi that much that I do the occasional Breen dailies until today. The warp core is the first thing I liked a Q for.
Tetryon Weapons - Fleet Advanced Tretyron Beam Banks, supported by Butterfly Mission awards. Never have tried them, learned to respect them (Hi Ver' Wink)

This will be my Flagship for the next Season. Now it's time to be explorers again.

Your "build" link just links to the image.  Undecided

I tried to replay the Doomsday mission after reaching level 60, but unlike the Enterprise-C mission, the weapons/hull of the BoP are stuck at Mk II, whereas the drones you encounter even before you ever see the Device are scaled up to level 60!  Cry Can this mission be played/beaten with a team effort?

I'm glad Tetryon is getting some love!  Big Grin Are you also using the Nukara set?

Rommie's BOFF and console layouts seem to address everything that was wrong with the original Exploration Cruiser and all of her variants. It's really nice to see the Galaxy-class getting more love, and I hope to see more of these ships in-game to bring back the Trek feeling (disclaimer: I'm not impressed with the aesthetics of most of the Federation T6 ships).

I corrected the Huh build link, thanks Shy

At the first satellite Piper was killed by surpise when I rerun Doomsday Device to get a loot-level Hargh'peng torpedo for the ERLKOENIG. It was lot of piloting (hunting drones with a dual cannon, evading to get caught and chewing them down one by one with the aft turrent). As Piper is old salt with Pilot/30 and Intel/20+ it was quite doable. I ran Tactical Team-1, Science Team-1 and Engineering Team-1 IIRC. I believe I have also put all Space Rep skills in the tray after respawn. The Iconian Restistance Rep ability was a life saver and marked invisible drones with Exclamation Marks of Anger Thumbup Wink

It this moment, the R&D Omni Bank is in the oven and the Butterfly Omni Bank wants to get looted after the patch.

I bought the fleet ship after mastering the Zen ship.

The ship did well in ISA yesterday night. Even silly maneuvers did not explode it in CCA.

Then I discovered that the Delta Reputation Trajectory Warp Core still has it's jump capability. So I replaced the entire set and put in a Lobi console (if I did not already have that, it would have been an Assimilated Module). The build is updated, so she flies.

The Nukara weapon set looks indeed worth a try.

My 2-set Nukara Beam Aux2Bat build. Currently I am totally beamish, no Torpedos/Mines. (Revamped see next posting)

SCM - Infected [LR] (S) - [07:56] DMG(DPS) - @rajathomas: 9.68M(20.90K) @edarta: 9.52M(20.81K) @admiraldunwall: 7.65M(16.61K) @ruck83: 6.77M(14.81K) @superbrainy123: 2.31M(5.06K)

Quite nice undefined

Piper@edartaSCM - Infected [LR] (S) - DMG In: 807,982 (55.6% of Team)
1M energy and 1M kinetic damge came in ... and got diminished - a survivor undefined

Some days later

The Andromeda is awesome. The ship just shrugs away any CCA attacks - it takes a bad group to actually start me self healing at a noteable level.

Neither the ship nor me are meant for PVP. However it wore off an annouyance of a Krenim Science Dreanought 3:2 (felt like 2 hrs getting contineously disabled or getting confused by the time split) and it swallowed an Escort wholesome, 2:0.

This is a drake build, performing as well or even better as the aux2bat loadout.

Saturday Night Fever

When I found that very nice page on energy related builds, Never mess with a Drake burned into my mind. I like to assign a warpcore engineer (raises all energy levels when an Emergency Power ability is used) as 4th energy helper.
This evening the proverb became true once more. I entered an ISA that had gone sour - 3 minutes played, Nanite Probes had healed the gateway, a team member had left. I did not care on this as I wanted to shoot Borg anyway. I also know how it feels when 4 players struggle to solve a task made for 5.

I got a lot of borgine attention. For a reason:
SCM - Infected [LR] (S) - [08:03] DMG(DPS) - @edarta: 13.58M(30.55K) @uwemumme: 8.25M(17.69K) @varren1010: 7.87M(16.26K) @hhavlicekk: 3.52M(7.68K) @Glavius: 3.20M(6.87K)

And back to Aux2Bat again. The Nukara Tetryon approach was not so impressive and I stick to a 2-set Butterfly loadout. A 3-set Butterfly & 3-set Midnight is an alternative that comes into my mind, but for now the 4-piece Delta space set suits me fine, especially since I pushed the warp core to [AMP] at ultra rare.

My Andromeda is not very agile, so DPS depends on battle group dynamics and how I adapt. This was the best numbers result of the 3 ISA runs I did with the new load out:

SCM - Infected [LR] (S) - [05:58] DMG(DPS) - @Captain_Hans_Langsdorff: 14.57M(41.68K) @edarta: 10.33M(30.17K) @linkhogthrob73: 6.95M(19.99K) @Commander_Leeta: 4.11M(11.87K) @peragro: 946.51K(3.32K)

In a very nice, very quick and agile group I was shy of 25K. At the 2nd run where I got to tank I had fuddled my trays a bit - that spoiled my stand-and-deliver master plan but I was above 27K.

For now a am very happy how the ship behaves. I do nice damage in an STF where Tetryon can not play it's full strength as the gate ways just do not have shields. The ship is also very tough: the delta shield spoils shield drains and the butterfly console reduces shields issues even more. The pilot-5-30/intel2-30 specialization also helps. The hull at 86 K (10X K if I use the 15 minutes buff from the jevonite hard points) can take some beating. After I saw the Tactical Cube tractor beam being relatively unimpressive this morning, I dropped Polarize Hull in Favor of Science Team.

Time to fly her for a while Smile

After another very nice run Smile

SCM - Infected [LR] (S) - [07:40] DMG(DPS) - @edarta: 16.76M(38.22K) @noybman: 7.07M(16.06K) @novascotius: 6.65M(15.13K) @PuppetX: 4.56M(10.41K) @pegasos81: 1.67M(3.74K)

with the worst reputed weapon loadout (Tetryon) I now start playing with the most hyped (Antiproton) ...

Not only by look, but by design the Yamato Class Dreadnaught is a sister ship of the Andromeda, featuring a Hangar and a Phaser Lance where the Andromada offers a higher Cap of Energy Levels. The Yamato's Mastery triggers on BW Overload and Lance weapons.

If Piper wants to fly a big Tank that does reasonable damage he shuffles space & ship traits and takes command of the USS BARBAROSSA (fleet version).

On the Tetryon build I now got to a revamp.

The Quantum Phase Torpedo from the new Sunrise mission is a shield pincer.
The Terran Special Forces Deflector sings well with the Leech and the Tetryon weapons.
The Sol Defense Impulse Drive felt best when I looked my treasury.

At 258 Flow Capacitors, the Leech siphons 3.6 energy and the beam arrays proc for >1200 shield damage.
T6 Ship Traits Supremacy (Astika) and Emergency Power Weapon Cycle (Arbiter) add to Energy support.
In full battle Energy levels run up in 124 to 130 (ship ability) on Shields and Weapons and Engine/Auxilliary reside happily in the high 90s to 100s.
