The only confirmed child of James Kirk was David Marcus, a researcher in the genesis project (Star Trek III). Inferentially, the only potential relationship David may have had was with Saavik, a navigator under Admiral Kirk and a close confidant of Spock by some estimations.  The reality of that relationship was that Saavik was Half-Romulan and pretending to be a Vulcan to be in Starfleet.  In the series enterprise, She was instrumental in returning Spock's Katra to his body but chose to remove herself from Starfleet to stay with Spock's mother, Amanda Grayson.

It is conceivable that she could have given birth and raised David's child in secret, it certainly wouldn't have been popularized due to Saavik's questionable past and the legitimacy that child would have in diplomacy and old grudges.  The Child would have certainly been seen as a Vulcan given the magnanimity of her status at hand; it would be likely that any contemporary of Spock's line would have the highest level of respect afforded to them.

On the other hand, it could just as easily be seen that Saavik's past caught up with her, and the child would have been sent to Romulus to have learned in seclusion in ways the Vulcans would have disagreed with, which is far more likely.  As a kind of middle ground, The Qowat Milat would have gladly accepted the child to raise and nurture. Still, if the child had been female, the lineage would have ended there since the Qowat Milat was celibate and dedicated their lives to the order, so for argument's sake, let's assume the child was a son, and he would have been permitted to live with them and train with them. Still, he would never have been accepted as one of them; this could have turned him into a kind and patient teacher, or a vengeful and conspiratorial villain, although the latter is unlikely because he would have been banished long before his training was complete, which could open others doors but close many more.

Two things could have happened in this narrative, depending on how you see the Tal Shiar.  If you see them favorably, you could easily say that hatred for humans and Vulcans could have been fostered to have been one of the pillars of the Zhat Vash consortium, but if you felt the federation was more of your taste, you could have easily been led to the fostering of hatred for the Tal Shiar and a Vengenace against the Zhat Vash.  The Qowat Milat was instrumental in diffusing the tensions between the Romulans and the Federation, and during such an exchange, Saavik and Marcus' child could have met up again circa 2315; by this time, Saavik would have been largely a stranger to the boy, and it would have been unlikely that they would have carried on a typical mother/son relationship.

Given the proximity to Spock's family, he could have easily been accepted into schooling and the sciences and gone on to serve as a researcher for any of the major think tanks that seemed to sprout up during the early 2300s, Given his training with the Qowat MIlat he would have been a proficient teacher and excellent tutor to many of the brightest minds of the 24th century, by TNG (2365 - 2374) his son or daughter would have been an important member of the academies of Starfleet. Still, there would have been intense resistance to joining the federation as a whole, given the betrayal of their great-grandfather and mother; it is almost certain they would have remained in academia, potentially being part of many inventions and discoveries the federation had commissioned. Still, there would be almost no chance that those grudges would have been overlooked.

By the 2380's many of the projects on mars would have been abandoned since this was when the synths began their uprising and synthetic lifeforms were banned. These life/synth life paths would have interested David Marcus, and it's possible that with the advent of borg technology, a new science would have been born to create new life out of dead technology.  Kirk's great great grandchild would have had research that likely would have been hard for others to have come across; he or she would have certainly been a project leader in xenosciences or abioengineering; some loose attachment could have been fostered with the Soong family would have been easily conceivable given the proximity to the mars disaster a child of kirk would have had little chance of allying with convention and would have likely ventured further away from the federation.

By 2390 the child would have been born in luxury, given many opportunities that just don't exist for many, even in a post-scarcity world.  The past of that kind of a family would make them a clear and considerate academic leader in the federation, and in this instance, the pangs of an old grudge against the federation would have waned, making joining the Starfleet much less of a taboo in that family.  Kirk's great great great Grandchild would be reminded daily of her connection to Spock and Kirk; by this time, it would have been obvious who the child had come from, no matter how much of the relationship had been hidden initially.  The current setting of STO places the timeline at 2409, making them 19, the perfect age to make a name for themselves without the burden of an insurmountable past.

Important things to consider: they would either be a brilliant scientist or a ridiculously effective tactical officer; given their history, they may even have techniques or research that would give them an edge many others simply wouldn't have had, depending on how you play them, they could be impulsive and difficult to predict, but they could also be exceptionally patient and a hard-working teacher, there would be little motivation to go into engineering, and any kind of work involving the furtherance of technology rather than the understanding of the origins of life would have been seen as beneath them.

Just my thoughts, but this timeline works perfectly with the information from the movies, series, and books.
