U.S.S. CAGLIOSTRO - Ed's Jupiter Fleet Carrier - Edarta - 12-01-2015 When I looked into the Jupiter Carrier, my first thought was that the Zen ship is not better, hull- and console-wise even weaker than the free Breen Sarr Theln carrier. ![]()

CAGLIOSTRO - Ed's Jupiter Fleet Carrier - Edarta - 12-03-2015 After some STFs and Patrols, I think that - as torpedo boat - the ship will get better with 2 aft torpedoes, replacing the omni-directional beams. My candidates are Photonic Torpedoes as these are already boosted by the Dyson 2-set bonus: Enhanced Bio-Molecular Photon Torpedo Launcher (Species 8472 Counter Command) and the Terran Task Force Photon Torpedo. I will also see how the ship plays with an EMP Probe replacing Aux2SIF. RE: U.S.S. CAGLIOSTRO - Ed's Jupiter Fleet Carrier - Edarta - 12-14-2015 So far I fly a very tough ship and keeping distance from foes is just cool: the 90° firing arc of the torpedo build does not hurt. Priss is a full blown Science Captain, and running with EMP Probe 1, Ionic Turbulence 2 help keeping foes in place. On the aft weapons I will replace the Omnidirectional Beams by the torpedo and the disruptor array from the Terran Special Forces Reputation: a bit more response if some pests sneak to my rear and a 2-set bonus that raises projectile damage ![]() Priss will also max in command specialization: she can already use the dps-rich Fleet Support Call while high on hull, a CD reduction of that abilty plus even more Hull should be nice.

I was looking on a setup for my Jupiter, not picking a ship for a torpedo build ![]() Mines. Tractor Mines. A nice idea I tested and binned while levelling my 1st character. Menacing for a player, the AI ships just shot them and then continued shooting at my escort ship... A 180° degree turn takes ~12 seconds - ample time for NPCs to do that nowadays, again. I really like what the Jupiter does now - herd foes and give them torpedoes with AoE effects. Even after the Nerf on Neutronic Torpedoes - the Particle Emitting Plasma torpedo still is a beast And I also have these hangar pets...

This is the new link. ![]() The CAGLIOSTRO is a Torpedo Carrier, and the main ship of Priss. So other Torpedo Scientists will use a different Skill/Doff mix. I am really happy seeing my 4 Hangar Pets, in Attack mode, surving the entire combat and sporting 5 stars. The kinetic damage my Torpedoes do is 1/3 of the damage they do with their special abilities. Maybe I do not need basic torp skill nodes... Shining in ISA with a slow ship like the Jupiter calls for planing: SCM - Infected [LR] (S) - [06:03] DMG(DPS) - @edarta: 17.13M(47.33K) @mayermarv: 9.31M(25.95K) @sg1apophis: 5.98M(16.50K) @shitbizkit: 2.54M(7.09K) @Export7: 2.49M(6.89K) I had a Grawity Well and All Things Uggly for the entry Cube and Spheres. Soon after the left cube popped I saw the Nanite Sphere swarm. While the team disassembled the Transformer, the CAGLIOSTRO stopped and eliminated the Spheres. The right Transformer where I joined the team efford was more interesting - the Ambulance Orbs came quite near. My Skill Tree choice does not sport any Hull Plating and my resistance was below team level - I just heal mylittle whale.
