The Shipyard of Whocares
#6
I wanted to show the D'Deridex performing in the way shown in TNG, and particularly in battles against the Dominion in Deep Space Nine. This meant a forward firing arc and aggressive turn: thus, the hugely expensive Epic RCS Console. However, when you're keeping a True Way Hideki Class in your forward cannons as it tries to get away from you, it all becomes worth it Big Grin

The Daeinos was named after the death of Leonard Nimoy. "Shekhina" was a book of photography by Nimoy, with the name Shekhinah being Hebrew or Arabic for a dwelling or settlement, and in particular the settlement of a god. Being that the Daeinos was designed by the Romulan Republic, and they are settled on Dewa III, New Romulus, the settlement of the founders of Romulus after the sundering and a settlement of the Iconians, the name made sense on many levels. It is also a nod to Nimoy, who launched Star Trek Online.

In terms of the tactical consoles, Romulan science officers don't really have a dedicated science ship, so I tried all the ones available at the time (the launch of Legacy of Romulus) and that one was the best. It is a great ship in its own right, and the Plasma Lotus (plasma variant of the Phaser/Disruptor Lotus) gets a good boost from those Locators, and they were the best tactical consoles I could get at the time.
