My Phantom build
#1
This is my Phantom build. A few notes: I do like DHC's as you can see. I do 16-20k in ICA with this. I could prob do more by switching to AP's but I like disrupters

Stats in Sol system:

HP: 52,784
Shields: 10,769
Crit chance: 21.3%
Crit Severity: 104.2%

I always recommend a subspace field modulator in the Device slots
I'd almost ask why not consider moving a uni from sci slot tot he eng slot and pop another fleet dyson sphere sci console on it which boots plasma dmg and reduces threat?
Do you find you like turrets? Is it a possible idea to dump the top on the back in favor of another front cannon?

Nice build

I have the mod in device but I didn't see it on the list so couldn't put it there. And I love my torp lol, I can get up to really high 1 hits with it. Last ISA I did I had a 130k hit lol. As for the sci console, I don't use plasmas so I would have to get the one from embassy that add a plasma dot to it and would lose crit. I believe I do have another sci console in bank but when I went from fleet ship to non I lost a console slot

I hear you on the consoles! I really wish STO had a more tiered approach to ship designs. Comparing them to each other, there really is no one ship that is a bread winner for a play style. Something always has to give.

I was specifically referring to the Embassy Sci console with plasma DOT as you speculated. I thought your cannons doing a debuff on a target would enhance a DOT bonus even if it is not specifically written, doing a "debuff to all energy types" should include plasma. Since the plasma DOT is 2.5% chance for 15seonds of sustained dmg, It might more than makeup for minor crit loss.

Oh yea, the torp, I was not saying remove it, I meant stick it in the rear end and drop a turret. Im sure its all about the play style, but I figured you were zipping all over the place so front or rear wouldnt matter (and a dual cannon can hit hard, much harder than a turret).

Either way, nice build! Fun discussion. I like learning!

yea i could see switching to a plasma dot console would give me a slight increase in dps but at a 2.5% chance I would rather take the certainty of the extra -threat, and +shield heal that the console I have now gives. As to a torp on the back lol totally not my play style to have me ass facing what I shoot lol

lol, you make it sound so wrong. I'm not an escort player but I will be one day.
I take it then that you do not do sweeping style attacks?

PS... if you try any experimentation, please tell us what you do and your results
