If you're wondering where I was last weekend, when I should have been online and upgrading my ship, I was, instead, chatting up the Cryptic devs at the Las Vegas Star Trek convention.

While they wouldn't reveal any secrets, we did learn that the next big arc involves resolving the Kentari and Lukari arcs and focuses on DS9. And the Dominion. When directly asked about playable Dominion captains, Steven Ricossa wouldn't say yes or no - but he did smile. Keep your fingers crossed.

New bridge interiors / ship interiors were being discussed and I have some of the plans they were handing out, so I'm hoping we'll see more playable ship interiors, like back in the 'good old days'.

I did chat up our fleet, reminding them they didn't know us because we didn't 'bitch and moan' like some of the other well-known fleets - but that we were pretty well-established, with Fed and KDF tier 5 starbases, almost full armadas, and a strong social presence (like Mom traveling around the world to slowly meet each and everyone of you... be prepared, you may be next!), creating videos and music vids, and doing the odd thing like knitting the WW sweaters (which blew them away, IMHO. Or they were polite, even as they were thinking, "This woman has too much spare time!"). It was gratifying to have one person say, "You're Strike Group??? I see you guys everywhere!"

So thanks to you all for making our fleet so awesome. And....

What do you think about a group meet up at next year's convention? I know not everyone could be there, but it would be awesome and fun.

I had so much fun with my KDF Engineer in his Fleet Duvqu' Destroyer, that I wanted to have that on my Fed Engineer, too  

This time I picked more mainstream weapons, but still run a Beam/Turrets hybrid in love with a Torpedo. You find the Academy build here.

The Crit boosting trait is expensive - if you do not have it, replace the Tac BOff's Attack Pattern: Delta by Attack Pattern: Beta.

I love them all, but I love the Dyson Weapon Set loadouts most: I have picked Control Expertise as well as Drain Expertise initially just for resistance. Here the Gravitic Photon Torpedo can show its Crowd Control ability against Borg Sphere groups - and the turrets peel them nicely

As some of you might have noticed, I have been somewhat a non-shower in STO the last 2 weeks.

This primarily due to a unforeseen personal issue at home with my girlfriend (No, we haven't broken up)
But also my work schedule has changed for the next 4 weeks meaning I have alot of evening- and Night-shifts.

Mom and Ed knows what has been going on and have of course accepted (as the lovely people they are) my absence.
I will still pop in once in a while, but don't expect me hours on end.

How did you get into Star Trek Online?  At first I was reluctant, but they made it free to play and thought, 'why not?'  From the first moment, I knew this was going to be my 'GO TO' game.  

How long have you been playing for?  Errr.  The better part of 3 years now, I think.  

What would be your best piece of advice to a new STO player?  Since I'm a screenwriter, let your imagination play and really explore the characters you create.

What’s your favourite career type (Engineering, Science or Tactical)?  Tactical.  Pretty straightforward and always in command.  I'm trying the Science field now.  I love the tricks.

What’s your favourite ship?  My favorite ship belongs to Andrews.  It's a Tactical Star Cruiser with the Operations Star Cruiser frame.  I called it U.S.S. Constellation because my favorite Original Series Episode was "The Doomsday Machine".

What’s your best and worst STO moment?  Hmm.  My best STO moment was realizing that characters I had developed in my free write screenplays were about to have a new life in the game.  UGH, that campaign in the Delta Quadrant...  Yikes. I felt extra bad for Janeway and crew.  They woke up the WRONG peeps.

What are some of your other interests?  I play hockey, guitar, write screenplays, and I'm a teacher.

What’s your favourite band?  My favorite band is Bryan Adams.

Anything else you want to say?  "There's only one thing I want to say to you, Decker!  Get my ship out of there."

Dear Mateys,
I am going to a Rehab Hospital for some weeks, starting the big adventure on Tuesday.

Tomorrow is Laptop preparation and I hope to spend some spare time online - if I get a connection.
