How did you get into Star Trek Online?
I have been a big fan of the series, Suddenly I saw a banner on steam with star trek online on it, clicked it, the rest is history

How long have you been playing for?
I installed the game quite some time ago, however due to time managment issues I only really started playing a couple of months ago (September 2014)

What would be your best piece of advice to a new STO player?
Find somebody to guide you through it, the game can be quite overwhelming and offers you alot of choices while leveling. Since leveling up goes rather fast, you can be "stuck" with certain thraits or ships without knowing what you've actually done

What’s your favourite career type (Engineering, Science or Tactical)?
I have only played engineering, I seem to like it

What’s your best and worst STO moment?
my best and worse moment is a combination, I saw a very nice looking costume, found out it was the long winter jacket and head over to the exchange, I'm glad to own it but I had to use up all my fleet credits in order to recieve it. Later on I went on a mission and had insufficient funds to repair my ship

What are some of your other interests?
I play musical theatre, been on stage quite a few times, I also do ballroom and latin dancing, otherwise i'm a freediver (diving without oxygen, my current record is 3m17s)

I have a wide taste when it comes to music, I enjoy musical theatre pieces but 80ies rock also does the trick for me (Ac/Dc, iron maiden, ...)

I'm mostly looking for a friendly bunch to hang out with and do some role playing. I'd like to advance in the game aswell and become a good player. Right now i'm mostly searching for advince on how to use my character, ship, build, ect...

-What’s your best and worst STO moment? I've been lucky enough not to meet any jerk yet, so I've only had good moments. I've specially enjoyed disigning and editing Rung'poav's record. I've also enjoyed Nimbus quests, Bajor's Standoff quest and the foundry;

-What are some of your other interests?: I like reading (specially scienc-fiction), cooking, playing with my dogs...;

-What’s your favourite band?: My taste in music range mainly from rock & roll, rock, heavy on. Among so many good groups there are it's hard to pick. Some are, for example, System of a Down, ACDC, Judas Priest, Ilegales, Extremoduro, Dr Feelgood. And I always have a laugh listening to Mojo Nixon;

-Anything else you want to say?: I'm not a talkative person, so you won't see me write much in the fleet channel. I'm a mediocre instance player, but I'll try my best if you ever need me to join. How did you get into Star Trek Online? Been a fan of TOS and TNG since I was young and looking for a good excuse to not study I found this game.

How long have you been playing for? Little over a year.

What would be your best piece of advice to a new STO player? The game can be confusing at the best of times. Utilise the stowiki / ask questions in fleet chat / there are even some good vids on youtube that may help you or give you ideas to achieve what you want. And when you decide what you want, farm in the dyson ground battlezone to fund your purchases!

What’s your favourite career type (Engineering, Science or Tactical)? Eng, the ground fabrications are so useful and fun

What’s your favourite ship? I like mobility so the ha'feh warbird is a favourite. The Risan corvette for pure fun/ zero practicality.

What’s your best and worst STO moment? Discovering the amount of dilithium I could make on the battlezone/ being minced with ease in PVP despite having all mk xi/xii purple gear.

What’s your favourite career type (Engineering, Science or Tactical)? I'm kinda partial to the science career with a more engineering bent.

What’s your favourite ship? I'm currently enjoying the Ar'kif tactical carrier retrofit, though can't wait to get my hands on one of the new romulan delta ships.

I started playing STO when it first went free to play been a fan of all things trek since I was a kid. books included

Best advice? ASK, READ, expirement. there are loads of forums wiki's and just good people out there willing to help utilize it. Zone chat can be full of immature ppl but there are those out there who not only ansewer questions but will PM or team up to help you. how ever if your looking for someth9ing more reliable research fleets and join one. fleeties are your best resource.

I started out a TAC then made a KDF TAC...K'urock. but I have two engineers and a sci. I cant claim one as a favorite because there are loads of fun things about each. I mean who doesn't like calling in an orbital strike or dropping gravity wells on targets or lighting up enemies with a little scatter volley followed by a nice torp spread? so much pew pew pew so little time.
Favorite ship? well more like a top ten. I love the classics.....galaxy, excel, promie, bop ( the b'rel version) vorcha, and nebula. but some of the new ships are cool the oddy vista....heck if the Miranda were more like it was in the film I'd fly it lol

best moment in sto? lol well its HAS to be hugging the mugato in a fleet run most fun ever! besides he isn't bad he is just misunderstood lol. worst moment? we have all been in THAT STF with THOSE Pugs....ugh.

interests? I have loads.....I'm an infantry men of 18 years love shooting especially when the bullets are free. but obviously movies games and general fun.

Bands? I'm pretty eclectic I like all kinds of music.

I'm on at various times I work swing atm. but due to a deployment I was gone for about a year so you'll find me grinding out gear in a mad dash to catch up. How did you get into Star Trek Online? I was at the Star Trek convention in Las Vegas when they announced the MMORPG. (Yes, I go to cons. Yes, I have a uniform - a good one! - but I don't wear it to cons. I have some limits.)

How long have you been playing for? I've been a member since it was introduced, but have only been playing in earnest for the last two years.

What would be your best piece of advice to a new STO player? Find am awesome fleet (oh, you're already here!) with good players who want to help make it fun for you. Ask questions: this is so diverse a game that it can take you days to get the answer you need if you insist on finding it for yourself - or you can just ask one of the others here who can help you - and give good advice.

What’s your favourite career type (Engineering, Science or Tactical)? I love Sci, but Engs seem to have so many good toys that I'm jealous.

What’s your favourite ship? The next one - whatever it is.

What’s your best and worst STO moment? Best moment was joining this fleet - it's made it an awesome experience. (You guys rock it!) Worst: getting chastised by a fellow player (not one of the fleet, BTW) during an elite mission. SO disheartening that I thought I'd not bother to play the game again. Fortunately someone reminded me that it is a game, and that some people are just inconsiderate.

What are some of your other interests? ST:TNG - I'm a fanfic writer, martial arts (4th degree in TKD), anime (I do a lot of cosplay for anime conventions), BattleTech (the Tesla pods, not the board games), Warhammer 40K, traveling, bicycling, dogs, and Pacific Rim. I want a Jaeger of my own.

My toon is Tevatra@whocares1975, a Vice Admiral (50) commanding the D’Deridex-Class Romulan Republic Warbird, Tuttalius.

I am an Australian player who joined Star Trek Online shortly after it went F2P. Since then, I’ve generally been on most days, even if it’s just to grind doff assignments. I have one main toon in tactical, engineering and science in each of the KDF, Starfleet and the Romulan Republic (plus the occasional alt to re-experience introductory levels or to replay the tutorial). I play PvE, Foundry, missions, and grind.

It would be hard to pick favorites; each has their own particular strength and weakness. My favourite toon and ship often depends on which one I have most recently made work better. Currently I have just completed an upgrade to the Klingon Engineer’s clunky old Bortasqu so it now performs almost gracefully… so long as you don’t mind some hull damage along the way! My favourite thing about Tevatra has to be having the D’Deridex perform like on the television shows. It is fast, almost nimble, aggressive, and enough firepower to hold her own.

In terms of advice, I would say that engineers are the most able to work the largest ships because they have bunkering strengths which means they are least affected by minimum Skills Points in ground; tacticians can work weapons the best to get very quick kills; and science is the most challenging to get working well and can be the most frustrating… but can also be the most satisfying when you get it right.

I can’t say I have a favourite ship overall, and all of my ships have things I love and things I don’t. The Korath Class is my favourite science ship as it can actually kill with its Gravity Wells after stripping shields with its Tachyon Beam and disabling crew with its subspace ruptures and Theta radiation. It spews out more toxic chemicals than a Malon Garbage Scow. My favourite tactical ship is the T’Varo purely because… beachballs of deathly plasma. ‘Nuff said.

For new players the best piece of advice I can give is to ask lots of questions, and play around with STO Academy builds. The Skills Grid is tricky to get right and costly to constantly fix. And read. Read forums, read blogs, right-click on equipment and read outlines. Open up Skills Tray options and read the background. Or if you’re a casual player, shop around for some standard, “tried and tested” builds and go for those.

Memorable STO moments for me include chatting with a Foundry writer about their new mission, chatting and swapping jokes with devs, and the first time I got Viral Matrix 3 right (yes, it’s possible... multiple doffs are your VM friend). The standout worst moment was being in a PvP and realizing it just wasn’t rewarding for me. So I don’t darken PvP’s doors with my presence!

In the real world, I am a writer with a strong interest in human resources and career development, I like science fiction generally including Star Trek, Red Dwarf and the relatively-unknown 12-episode UK series, Hyperdrive, about a ship full of incompetents blundering through the galaxy. Also like history, astronomy, mythology, and archaeology. In music, my tastes range from medieval to steampunk. Steam Powered Giraffe Rules. That is all!
