What would be your best piece of advice to a new STO player? Um. Seek advice. Advice is your best friend. Also make friends!

What’s your best and worst STO moment? Worst: getting one-shot killed. I literally went WTF. Best: not dying on my first hard run by myself? I'm not sure if I have one yet!

How did you get into Star Trek Online? Because Farnsworth strong-armed me into it "I have a loving significant other who also plays and I wanted to spend more time with him"

How long have you been playing for? Not very long. I started a couple months ago but only have been regularly playing for less than a month.

What would be your best piece of advice to a new STO player? Don't be a hoarder! I hoarded all my shit at first and was completely overwhelmed with what each thing meant for each purpose and which one was better for my needs. Turns out, most of it was pure crap anyways.

What’s your favourite career type (Engineering, Science or Tactical)? Engineering. My specialty in almost any game I play is tanking. I love to tank - if you're in space, get the fuck behind me and let me take all the damage.

What’s your favourite ship? The toy boat in my bathtub.

What’s your best and worst STO moment? Best is meeting good people --- also I did an advanced Undine space STF last night with a couple people and while everyone else died at least once, I didn't even go below 50%... so I gave myself a pat on the back.

What are some of your other interests? Art (drawing, painting, graphic design) and other video games! I like experimenting with makeup too. I also like a few select reality shows like RuPaul's Drag Race but that's because I'm a fag hag.

What would be your best piece of advice to a new STO player? Stick with it, and for all it's worth. Ask, ask, ask. Also do those Doff assignments and R & D!

What’s your best and worst STO moment? Best: Hooking up with this fleet. Ya, sounds corny! But in less than three months I've managed to get farther than I have ever with other fleets! Even if I'm just a lowly commander. (laughs) Worst: Pretty much anytime I turn zone chat on.

I will say, that if your looking for a group of people. Who care about what is going on, are very interactive with things. Not constantly chimming in about doing this PvP, or this PvE.... here's your fleet. They do not push they encourage. That alone is worth all of the stars in our Galaxy and beyond!

What would be your best piece of advice to a new STO player? Find an awesome fleet with awesome people... Strike Group, hint hint.

What would be your best piece of advice to a new STO player? Don't mess with your skill points until you know how they synergize with your build. You will pay for your mistakes in Zen.
For older players: Set a goal and stick to it-- it will make the grind less painful.

Best: Out-maneuvering the Gorn in "Hide and Seek" in my Centaur-class light cruiser, as a new player.
Worst: Realizing that there are no missions where the player resolves a moral dilemma with a dramatic Patrick Stewart speech.

So I recently joined, and thought it was a good idea to visit the Fleet forum for a more formal introduction.

And to do so properly, why not go over the questionnaire - seems to make sense.

Character Names: I joined as Zephyra (KFD tactical, Orion) and also had my Delta Recruit Gomok (FED tactical, playable Klingon) join. I have many characters, my most advanced one is my Romulan liberated Borg Sadhrena (FED ally, science). She is maxed out on reputation (all but event and iconian...). My "main" is currently Zephyra, but I tend to shift over time between all those I have in stock. My first character was T'Press - FED vulcan science carreer.

Your Current Rank: I have a number of level 50+ characters. Zephyra is 58. I only have one level 60 right now - Sadhrena the Romulan former Borg.

Time Zone: I operate from the Netherlands.

How did you get into Star Trek Online? Big fan of the franchise. Well, actually, mainly TNG and a number of episodes of DS9 and VOY. TOS is just silly, very hard to watch really. I suppose the original movies are OK. I knew when STO launched, but at the time seriously didn't have time to start playing. My gaming time went to Guild Wars (still a great game, which I sometimes revisit). Some real-life friends played STO and I think it was late 2011 when I joined. It didn't take me long to go for a Lifetime subscription. But I haven't played continuously, I have taken extensive breaks from online gaming several times.

How long have you been playing for? On and off since late 2011. Maybe once joined a fleet, but went on hiatus shortly after. Yeah, that happened.

What would be your best piece of advice to a new STO player? Don't let the UI scare you off. Take time to get used to it. Walk the tutorial - the new ones are well-written and actually provide a fun/interesting storyline. And don't rush, walk your own pace. The game may sometimes give you the idea that there is a clock running in the background, but unless you actually SEE a clock counting down, you can actually go out for groceries in the middle of whatever you were doing - the game will wait for you.

What’s your favourite career type (Engineering, Science or Tactical)? Each has it's perks, I find Tactical the most straight-forward and quick to level, Science the most interesting, Engineering the most tanky. Depends on what my "main of the day" is, really!

What’s your favourite ship? Depends on the character I'm playing. I like to play in style. I recently acquired a Xindi Heavy Escort Carrier while opening boxes for Lobi crystals. I just wanted to trade the Lobi for Lohlunat favors, because I wanted flowers for my girl! And then the ship popped out. I really love that boat right now.

What’s your best and worst STO moment? Since my gaming computer fried, I play on a laptop (with 27" monitor and external keyboard, mind) and it can't take some of the delta space maps. I hate that. I also don't like a number of typical STO game mechanics, when they make players grind and grind and grind. And I don't like the fact that building sand sculptures on Risa can't be done if you don't get extremely lucky by finding a patch before others do. How can a holiday event be designed to frustrate players??? WHAT EVER! Hence I opened boxes for Lobi to trade for favors instead. Pfff...
As for the best moment: reading appreciative comments on my Foundry missions (I have two published missions: 'Outpost Gaia' (FED) and 'Borg Blitz' (KDF) I would need to polish them up a little here and there but hey).

What are some of your other interests? Music, science, psychology, audio/visual creativity.

What’s your favourite band? My own - I don't have favorite band, I used to be in the wave/industrial rock scene, also sporting dark electro; my current band is more heavy rock/melodic wave style with a funky drummer.

I'm Tony, and I play a tac/escort pilot named Groot. Ahem..I mean "I am Groot!"

I play on PST and I'm usually on in the evenings and weekends. I'm a recent returnee to STO, played early and then left for other games. I also play ESO and SWTOR. I've been play STO for a few months now and I'm really enjoying the new pilot ships. My best piece of advice for new STO players is to pick up a T6 or T5-U ASAP! It's a game changer.

I'm not on constantly because of school and work, but I love playing with other people so if you are going to run some PvE queues hit me up. My DPS isn't great yet, but I'd welcome any advice to bring it up.
