At the last weekend Starfleet Strike Group unlocked the 2nd assignment officer on R&D in our Fleet Research Lab.
At high R&D skill levels, most white and green materials have become just fillers for your R&D inventory.
Everything has changed!
![[Image: weird-math.png]](http://www.safarihelm.de/sto/pix/weird-math.png)
>>>>> Follow the blue line* >>>>>>
The northern assignment officer offers a daily R&D project that turns 2x20 whites and 2x35 greens into Experience in a given R&D school, a piece of purple material and assorted pieces of blue materials. These are vary by school. So, if you are going for extra experience in a school, just pick that, otherwise look, which materials you want most. The project runs some seconds. You also get
1200 Dilithium Ore
Project Material requirements, by R&D School
You need 20 of each white and 35 of each green material.
Beam Weapons: Hydrazine Gas, Magnesite, Tritanuim, Verteron Particles
Cannons: Trionium Gas, Duranium, Tritanuim, Thoron Particles
Projectile Weapons: Trionium Gas, Duranium, Tritanuim, Verteron Particles
Shields: Trionium Gas, Magnesite, Hexafluorine Gas, Verteron Particles
Engineering: Hydrazine Gas, Duranium, Hexafluorine Gas, Verteron Particles

Ground Weapons: Trionium Gas, Magnesite, Hexafluorine Gas, Thoron Particles
Visit the eastern Assignment Officer to get the daily DOff mission for an R&D XP boost.
* For those who want to be
daring and always leave blue lines, here is a map**: ![[Image: map-weird-science-01.png]](http://www.safarihelm.de/sto/pix/map-weird-science-01.png)
**I made this useless map, so I show it!
Yesterday Commander Stella Star took place at the captain's seat of the Ambassador Class Support Cruiser U.S.S. ALMA.
![[Image: ship-stella-star-alma.png]](http://www.safarihelm.de/sto/pix/ship-stella-star-alma.png)
The ALMA will explore the Space, defeat destiny in the Klingonian War and save Nimbus III from the grip of the Orion Syndicate. For me the Enterprise C is one of the most beautiful ships ever in Star Trek Online and I want to fly it as long as possible. So at level 18 I skipped missions and called the Temporal Ambassdor mission. A T5 version of this ship was rewarded at the end of summer last year. Dreams Maybe this will happen again this year ...

Ok, so Ver wanted some new banner ideas for the site, so here's what I came up with.
![[Image: 2ahulc1.jpg]](http://oi58.tinypic.com/2ahulc1.jpg)
And if we wanna include Romulans:
![[Image: 95z9si.jpg]](http://oi58.tinypic.com/95z9si.jpg)
Note: You'll need to click on them to get full size.

So, the new site is here. The old Foundry threads were not copied though, however few there were.
Anyway, my currently published foundry missions are Outpost Gaia (FED) and Borg Blitz (KDF). Got a few things in the works, but life is pretty busy as it is, so it may take a good while before I publish anything new.
Go take a look! You might actually enjoy it.
Then again, maybe not. Some people thought the missions were too easy, some thought them too hard. Someone even called it "infantile" - the gull of some folk, to call people that and still give a "1 star for effort"! The sense of entitlement! On the other hand some guys called my stuff "the best mission ever!" and "feels like a real Star Trek episode"! Now that's nice criticisms. Wish they had left a bigger tip, though.

Account Name: scissorlizard
Character Names: "ch'Rain" is my main toon, but I also maintain 3 dilithium mules named "T'Rain", "K'Rain" and "Liron"
Your Current Rank: Level 60
Time Zone: GMT+2
How did you get into Star Trek Online? A friend introduced me. Also, this.
How long have you been playing for? Off and on for 2 years.
What would be your best piece of advice to a new STO player? Don't mess with your skill points until you know how they synergize with your build. You will pay for your mistakes in Zen.
For older players: Set a goal and stick to it-- it will make the grind less painful.
What’s your favourite career type (Engineering, Science or Tactical)? My main is an engineer, but one day I would like to try science.
What’s your favourite ship? Odyssey-class.
What’s your best and worst STO moment?
Best: Out-maneuvering the Gorn in "Hide and Seek" in my Centaur-class light cruiser, as a new player.
Worst: Realizing that there are no missions where the player resolves a moral dilemma with a dramatic Patrick Stewart speech.
What are some of your other interests? Obviously a trick question
What’s your favourite band? They aren't famous yet.
Anything else you want to say?
Verily this vichyssoise of verbiage veers most verbose, so let me simply add that it’s my very good honour to meet you and you may call me ch'Rain.... or just "Rain."

All,
Ver' and I have been discussing the possibility of establishing some Fleet rules, which we feel will benefit our members individually, and as a group.
While we've got some key themes in mind, we're keen to have input from everyone in the Fleet - after all, every member will be bound by these rules, so it's only fair that we get as many people involved in creating them as possible!
Below, you'll see a list of general themes in Bold text, with specific sub-headings underneath. This will be an organic list, and will develop alongside members' input.
Activity
Progression
Leadership Roles
Acceptable Conduct
Dismissal & Reinstatement

I would like to make a suggestion for a new Fleet Bank area, whose purpose would be to act as a distribution hub for quality, low-level materials for players and toons that are 'leveling up'. As a working title, I call this the "Recruits tab" below.
Here's how it would work:
Established players (such as myself) who gather large amounts of resources that would be useful for newer players, but are either at capacity for ourselves, or of lower value, would be able to place this into the Recruits tab.
Such materials would be for example, purple Boff Candidates,Tier-3 Boff training PADDs, provisions stacks that are of minimal value but valuable to newer players such as batteries, and anything else which may be of value to a newer player but limited value to established players. It might also include a small EC pot with a low withdrawal amount (say 20k) but I really don't know if that would be able to be set on a single tab.
The bank tab would be available to new(ish) players who otherwise have limited access to important long-term 'game investment' such as boffs and skills.
Such an idea would be available to fleet members earlier than other tabs, but would also have less valuable commodities to take out. Its key benefit is that it would enable newer players to gain access to otherwise-expansive (for them) long-term resources, that is likewise resources that is of limited or no value to established players (such as Lt Cmdr-level T3 PADDs that collect dust or sell on exchange for a few thousand EC each). The Recruits' tab would therefore act more like a swap-market repository from player-to-player rather than a holding cell for valuable resources, and would be a fleet value-add for new players.
What do others think of this idea?

I don't know about anyone else, but I personally would love to see the forums have more content. To that end, any suggestions?
Please leave feedback about our new website.
