For the Academy Build, click here.
The Acheros is the most "romulan" box ship, and I like it. Captain is an engineer, tacticians would use some other personal traits and captains abilities (moar attack, less repair).
These are my trays:
- Gravity Well and the various tractor beams can mess with engines.
- Quantum Phase torpedoes + TS/HY will drop their shields.
It's again specializing and skilling 4 BOs same way.
This solution is impressive when your Captain is already nicely equipped and you gave some love to your BOs.
Essentially these abilities buff your damage (percentages!) and resistances or debuff foes. Situation awareness is built into abilities or the BOs AI do the job.
And these things tend to stack.
Pick 4 any (any) Bridge Officers for your away team.
P.S. No video this time

- Train them by 4 Specialisation Manuals in Command.
- Teach them by 4 Training Manuals Return Fire-3.
- Teach them by 4 Training Manuals Hammer and Anvil-3.
- Teach them by 4 Training Manuals from NPC Shock and Awe-1.
- Select Command as active specialisation and select Skills.
- DONE!

This solution is effective and rather cheap - suitable for Chars Level 30+

After running through 12 builds on the Crystal event, it occurred to me that maybe each event has an 'ideal' build. I'm going to post what I find - feel free to jump in with your ideas and results!
First one: BREACH EVENT: Jem'Hadar, Vorgon Xyfius, Polaron Beams and Kinetics

This is my most loved set up for Science Captains on Ground, suits me fine in Ground Elite PVEs:
![[Image: sci-cap-ground-dps-set.png]](http://www.safarihelm.de/sto/pix/sci-cap-ground-dps-set.png)
The most dirty trick in this is to have the set weapon as secondary and a favorite beast as primary.
Two hyped ground weapons (herold staff, boolean) have deficiencies in single target damage or firing rate. Or they are freezing you in place while loading up their 2ndary attack.
I prefer the Plasma Wide Beam Rifle for its quick Special/Secondary attack that cooperates with the Temporal Operative Specialization or a Krieger Wave weapon that also has a reasonably quick 2ndary attack and a KPerf proc. As high cost, but very cool alternative to the set body armor I like the 23rd Century Experimental Environmental suits:

Your Current Rank: Fresh 65. I played years ago and recently came back.
Been getting into the reputations again and
learning new content.

How did you get into Star Trek Online? Ive always been a fan since i watched
The Next Generation on tv as a kid.
How long have you been playing for? A few years back in 2012 up to 50. Recently came
back and dusted off the T5u wells ships. SCI is awsome.
What would be your best piece of advice to a new STO player? Yes theres alot of micromanagement
sometimes. But just take it slow, Have fun,
ask questions, and it will all fall in place.
There seems to be alot of friendly and helpfull
people in this community
What’s your favourite career type (Engineering, Science or Tactical)? Science for sure.
What’s your favourite ship? So far it would hafta be the Wells Temporal Science Vessel T5U. But ive been
drooling over that Annorax, Maybe someday. I plan on trying a T6 temporal ship soon.
What’s your best and worst STO moment? Memories of the winter event with old friends.
Putting those Type 2 phaser pistols on all our bridge members and ourselves, and
running old episodes watching all the mobs get turned off like TV sets. Can't recall any
worst moments realy. And those are just memoriest realy, Not best moments. I do love it when
I get there just in time to transfer shields and hazzard emitters on someone, then turn and drop
grav wells and torpedo spreads on there attackers.
What are some of your other interests? Survival/crafting games, VR, I'm a pretty casual gamer.
What’s your favourite band? Hard to pick a favorite. But i listen to everything. Pink Floyd, Beastie Boys,
some classical, even some country. Pink Floyd hasta be one of my favorites though.
I come home after a hard day and listen to them and they ease my mind. Star Trek
can have the same kind of effect.
Anything else you want to say?
I played this game years ago back in 2012ish. Its one of those games i can never forget and always seem to come
back to now and then. I'm still in my old fleet. There sort of dead atm. So ide need to leave it if u guys will have me here.
Last login has been a year or so. But for now its saving me from those random fleet invite spams.
An old friend of mine @stankybug is in ur fleet. U might know him as Tiggobittys. We go all the way back to
Everquest 1 in 99 or 2000. Been a long time. I still remember when we first met and he was running all the
way across the Dreadlands to meet up with the group. We've played games together ever since. Here is his old forum post

I owe this ship design to TiberiusJP and hours of chatting with that friendly dude. Theory crafting with him was sometimes taxing, sometimes fun and always helpful

The ship is built to max exotic damage and uses Temporal Operative Specialization abiliities. Tactical BO abilities have been forfeited for a 360° Exotic Damage at Will aspect. Duty Officers combine a Drake Build with Technicians for Exotic Damage - those are not cheap, and at took me 2 weeks to pile the ECs for them. You can go for a 3-DCE Drake and also do well - the ISA Combat Reader pic is from a run I did before I got the Technicians.
This is the build in STO Academy: CLICK
The Academy does not offer the Gamma Reputation Impulse drive. These are the item details, where I pinked up why I love that thing on Science vessels:
In the space skill setup you will see many picks from the tactics department, shunned by many "Science" Captains. Reading tooltips thrice helps, I pinked up again the relevant sections. I pick these on any science vessel:
Here is how I use the ship's many abilities, massively eased by utilizing key binds:
Finally: NUMBERZ!
I really like that ship
