UPDATE: http://skillplanner.stoacademy.com/?buil...scioddy1_0

She's about as tough as they come without the T-5U upgrade, starship traits/mastery, any fancy DOFFs or Mk XIV weaponry. More details are in the "Notes" and "Description" sections.

NOTE: Skill distribution is not precise.
In a week I have played Star Trek Online for a Year.

This is the first ship I wanted since it looks so good and I bought it to celebrate all great things happened during that time.

NCC 92708-F ~ U.S.S. MAELSTROM

The build reflects several missions and events I remember dearly and uses a weapon type I have not tried out yet:

The Fluidic Phase Decoupler - It is a gift from my friend that got me to STO last year. I met him first when we were students, 1983. The console was a miracle for a newbie in a Miranda to get quickly out of trouble and now I will use it to get quickly into trouble.
The Hargh'peng Torpedo - It was the first Very Rare weapon I got. I kept that at those days Mk VI weapon until Level 50. The Federation Doomsday Device mission is my personal favorite.
The Breen Set - I loved the Deferi that much that I do the occasional Breen dailies until today. The warp core is the first thing I liked a Q for.
Tetryon Weapons - Fleet Advanced Tretyron Beam Banks, supported by Butterfly Mission awards. Never have tried them, learned to respect them (Hi Ver' Wink)

This will be my Flagship for the next Season. Now it's time to be explorers again.

Went back to my command cruiser since we have T5 sci in the starbase and I'll soon be able to get yellowstone runabouts.

Using a lot of the same gear as my other builds, but since it's a good working build, figured I'd post it anyway. :3
Here is my build for my Rommy Sci pilot ship:

http://skillplanner.stoacademy.com/?buil...tship_9922

I hit 76k DPS with this build in ISA and it's not even complete as I still have things left to upgrade.

Please keep in mind that this was a run with people from the DPS-50000 channel so if you just copy my build and go jump in a PUG your probably not going to hit 76k with it. For one , without other high dps people , you can easily pull too much arrgo and probably die a lot. It's not built to tank.

Questions, comments, suggestions always welcome.
Here is my build which focuses on Tetryon. One tweak to it I have, but still have mixed feelings on is the Nukara web mine launcher. As shown, this is my preference.

I use a lot of heal abilities and focus on survival. Also, I pass team based heals to others when needed (*and I notice).

This ship allows a Universal Commander BOFF slot, so you can focus on Tier 4 *anything skills.

This builds goal is "Supportive Tank":
  1. Take Damage, and lots of it! (heal, heal, heal)
  2. Turn rate, we all need it
  3. Do Science mob control, OR drain/debuff tachyon etc (BOFF based, science)
  4. Deal the maximum amount of Tetryon based damage possible.
  5. Uses (and used to use exclusively) Phased-Tetryon weapons which provides a proc for shield or subsystem crippling.
  6. Honors the 2nd level Tal Shiar bonus (2 slots)
  7. Uses Borg set focused on survival and energy output.
  8. Max possible CRITC% & CRITH%
I welcome critique. I've considered going all dual beam and bumping up the turn rate with fleet engineering consoles in favor of 1 or 2 of the universals. Thoughts?

Sadly if I do that, I'd probably want turrets in the rear vs. the broadside attack.
I thought I would post my shipyard here, and the account is Whocares1975 (thus the post name!) I've included the whole bunch.

A few things about my approach to Star Trek Online, which should help explain the oddities and general "why on earth did you do that?!" of some of them:
  • I'm a Balance Builder, so I don't try to make the best or nastiest ship out there, just the one most likely to be able to survive on ground or in space in any situation thrown at me
  • Since Delta Rising, I've gone into a more casual style of pay, so generally speaking, I haven't upgraded my stuff in a year unless I really thought it worthwhile
  • I have focused on giving each toon a specific strength or knack, so each ground and space approach is different. Some are more successful than others but each is unique to play
  • I have gone for a 'traditional Star Trek' style of build first and foremost, so every ship has a torp and an energy weapon. In some cases, this has been a real challenge but for me, that's what made many of my builds fun!
  • In-depth explanations and notes are there on each ship at STO Academy

So this is a dreamchild. I started with a Reddit Build and threw out everything that either costs Lobi, or 100M EC or Zen that I have not spent yet (Starship Traits).

This is a ship that lives from mad piloting - and I want to try that Big Grin

The current loadout is a training setup. When I learn to handle that ship (and get the specialization abilities), the universal seat will be a tac (BW Target Shields or Tactical Team) and the Engineer goes to another EPtW rather than EPtS.
With that ship, Piper's action days are ... backĀ  8-)

I started with Aly's Fleet Chymera, coped with 1 less tech console, made an aux2bat setup, took the Delta Set, flew some STFs, tweaked (changed from Fire at Will to Overload BW - why should I pull world and dog when Cruisers are flying around?), and have a build (no Manticore yet on STO Academy, I took the Fleet Chymera as stunt double).

The ship kicks and bites! However I am a little bit in doubt on the Delta Warp Core. It's nice to jump around on the battle field and the 4-Set Tantalus Beam (limited use due to range/cd/duration) looks frightening.
But. Even in Balanced Energy (Tactical Mode. In Regenerative Mode exchange Shield and Weapon values) setting while in a peaceful orbit, the ship is grumpy and asks for a fleet [amp] warpcore. Should I yield, and which one? The Energy is always high, 3 Energy levels above 75 should be always on.
U.S.S. Armageddon NX-91007

Still using the same gear, but it works. Made some tweaks to boff skills to reduce cooldowns.

Made a full build including skills, traits, specs and some notes.
